: The American Studies expose students to visiting scholars and lecturers.

Program Specializations
: The graduate program is an interdisciplinary program offering comprehensive study in American institutions and culture. The basic program consists of courses in American History, American Politics, American Literature, American Experience Through Film, American Culture, scientific research methods and other areas as approved by faculty.

MA Requirements
: The MA requires 30 hours of coursework, and 6 hours of Thesis or 36 hours of core American Studies courses with a comprehensive exam. Students choose to follow either Plan I or Plan II. Candidates who choose Plan I write an interdisciplinary thesis (6 credit hours) in keeping with the philosophy of the department. After completing formal course work, each student must prepare and present a scholarly paper at a professional meeting within his/her area of concentration. Plan II consists of 36 hours of course work and a comprehensive written examination.

The American Studies Graduate Program at Al-Quds University is an interdepartmental program drawing extensively on the faculty and courses of a variety of departments on campus, primarily English, political science and history.
